Little Trees Project

Our mission is to bring connection, comfort, and joy to shut-ins and home care residents throughout the year. We deliver thoughtful gifts and heartfelt words of encouragement on holidays, birthdays, and just-because days.

Who We Are

The Little Trees Project began as a heartfelt idea from our founder and director, Linda Gillick, who felt a deep calling from God to share His love in tangible ways.

Who We Serve

The Little Trees Project is dedicated to serving those who may feel overlooked or forgotten, focusing on shut-ins and home care residents. These individuals often face challenges of isolation, loss, and limited connection to the outside world, making them especially in need of encouragement, connection, and reminders of God’s love. So, our mission is to reflect God’s light in the lives of those we serve, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved.

How You Can Pray

Pray for Residents

Lift up the residents in prayer, asking that they feel deeply valued and loved. Pray that they experience joy, peace, and a sense of belonging in their daily lives.

Pray for Caregivers

Pray for strength, patience, and comfort for caregivers as they serve those in their care. Ask for God’s presence to be a source of renewal and encouragement in their often challenging roles.

Pray for Provision

Ask God to provide the resources and opportunities needed to sustain and grow this ministry so we can continue to bring comfort and connection to those who need it most.

Pray for the Team

Pray for wisdom and unity for our team as we seek to share love and hope with residents and caregivers in every season. Ask for discernment in how best to meet the needs of those we serve.

Pray for Spiritual Renewal

Pray for a powerful revival of faith and deeper connections to God, with renewed spirits and strengthened relationships through His Holy Word.

Pray for Salvation

Pray that this ministry becomes a light leading many to the truth of the gospel. Lift up those who do not yet know God’s love, asking that their hearts be transformed by the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ.

From One Little Tree to a Mission of Joy:

How Edith’s Christmas Tradition Sparked a Year-Round Ministry

Over 20 years ago, I placed my first “little tree” for Edith, a dear friend in her 80s.

As a young nurse engaged to be married, Edith was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. She broke off her engagement and never married, dedicating herself instead to a life of faith.

Frail and weighing no more than 70 pounds, Edith had a loving nature and a heart for God. I visited her weekly, bringing lunch and encouraging her to pray for others as our “prayer warrior.”

One Christmas, I surprised her with a little Christmas tree and ornaments for her living room. When her sister Lois saw it, she asked for one too, and it became a tradition.

After Edith passed, Lois always wanted Edith’s tree, cherishing it as a connection to her sister.

Even in her final year at a nursing home, the tree brought so much joy to Lois and those around her.

Since then, I’ve placed trees for other nursing home residents, sometimes with the help of my children, grandchildren, or youth groups.

Last year, feeling overwhelmed by how many more people needed joy, I prayed for guidance. God reminded me this mission was bigger than me.

A few months later, I met a missionary who introduced me to The Cause, an organization that supports ministry efforts. With help from The Cause, I’ve been able to expand this mission to year-round opportunities to serve those God has placed on my heart.
